Hongqi has pulled the wraps off its first body-on-frame off-roader at the Beijing Auto Show. The production version arrives almost unchanged from the concept — differences are limited to the bumpers. A final name has not been announced; the company is using “Off-Road” as a working title.
The powertrain is an EREV setup: a 2.0T four-cylinder petrol engine acts solely as a generator, never driving the wheels. Four electric motors — one per wheel — produce a combined 843 hp and 1,320 Nm. Hongqi claims a 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds. EV-only range stands at 280 km (CLTC), with total range reaching 1,350 km when the generator is factored in. Battery capacity has not been disclosed.
Off-road hardware includes air suspension, front and rear differential locks, and a lidar-assisted autopilot. The split tailgate can be ordered with an optional rear rack or spare wheel carrier.
Chinese market launch is targeted for the second half of 2026.
