Skoda has revealed a facelifted Slavia in India, the only market where the sedan is built and sold. The 1.0 TSI swaps its 6-speed automatic for an 8-speed torque converter, the 1.5 TSI gains rear disc brakes, and bookings are open against a ₹15,000 deposit (about $155) ahead of pricing in October.

Canada restored federal electric-car incentives on 16 February 2026 through the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program, and EV sales rose more than 80% in March over February. The rebate is deducted at the dealership and reimbursed by Ottawa afterwards, and dealers report waits of up to 90 days against a 20-business-day service standard, with some carrying more than C$200,000 in unpaid claims.

Genesis has revealed the GV90, its first full-size SUV and its new flagship, with what it says is the first airbag fitted above a car's panoramic roof. The electric SUV makes 490 kW (657 hp) from two motors, carries a 123.5 kWh battery and charges at up to 350 kW. The top GV90 Neolun drops the B-pillar for coach doors that open independently.

Hyundai has published the first official images of the fifth-generation Tucson, which switches to the Art of Steel design language and grows 60 mm longer on a 30 mm longer wheelbase. Powertrains were not disclosed.

Nissan deleted the SV grade from the 2027 Murano, so the range now opens on the SL at $43,990 before destination, $2,320 above last year's starting price. The SL itself is $2,770 cheaper than it was. A new Dark Armor grade slots in at $46,990.

Tesla has put the rear-drive Model 3 Premium back on the Canadian price list at C$39,490 ($29,000) before delivery, supplied from Gigafactory Shanghai rather than California. It is the lowest price the Model 3 has carried in North America, and it exists because Canada cut its duty on Chinese electric cars from 100% to 6.1% for the first 49,000 imported each year. The same origin disqualifies it from the federal C$5,000 rebate.

LG Energy Solution has started production at its $2 billion battery plant in Lansing, Michigan, and Toyota is the named automotive customer. The site builds the NMC cells for the 2027 Highlander EV, which Toyota assembles in Kentucky. General Motors part-built the plant, then sold its stake.

Audi has posted the first hard numbers for its entry-level electric compact: four power levels from 125 kW to 240 kW, up to 649 km WLTP and a German list price from €38,200 (about $41,600). Production starts in Ingolstadt this autumn.

Bentley says the cabin of its first electric car uses the world's first 100% merino wool automotive fabric to meet luxury-car standards, woven with Somerset mill Fox Brothers and offered in six colourways. The Torcal also gets a veneer pressed from up to 1,000 layers of walnut and recycled paper, and a system called the Curation Engine that runs light, sound, air and screens together.

Ford is rolling out its AI Assistant to up to 8 million eligible Ford and Lincoln vehicles through the brands' phone apps. It answers questions about the specific car using live telemetry, reads photos, and moves into the dashboard from 2027. Google Gemini arrives separately as a voice assistant option.

The 2027 Lincoln Nautilus gets a wider grille, a redesigned hood, slimmer tail lights and three new cabin themes, with the 250 hp 2.0T and the 285 hp hybrid carried over unchanged. It arrives at US dealers in early 2027, still built in China, and still under a 52.5% import duty Ford has said it will stop paying by 2030.

Mercedes has updated the combustion C-Class saloon and estate for Euro 7, moving every petrol and diesel badge up a step in output, dropping the 1.5-litre engine and the diesel plug-in hybrid, and replacing some of the steering wheel's touch pads with physical rockers and rollers. Orders open in Germany on 18 August 2026 from €48,844 (about $53,700).

Ford revealed the Mustang Dark Horse SC Convertible in August 2026, putting the supercharged 795 hp 5.2-litre Predator V8 in an open-top Mustang for the first time. The engine and seven-speed dual-clutch carry over from the coupe unchanged; what is new is a magnesium tower-to-tower brace and MagneRide dampers at all four corners, retuned for touring. Ford has not announced a price.

Genesis unveiled its first hybrid system on 13 August 2026, five years after committing to sell nothing but electric and fuel-cell cars from 2025. It debuts in the GV80 Hybrid next month: a 2.5-litre turbo petrol engine with two motors in a P1 plus P2 layout, 352 PS (347 hp) and 54.0 kgf-m (529 Nm), a new seven-speed rear-wheel-drive automatic, and no charging port.

Aston Martin revealed the Valen at Monterey Car Week on 14 August 2026, a 150-car V12 special making 850 PS (838 hp) and 1,000 Nm. It is the third limited-run V12 the company has built in four years and the first of them without a manual gearbox, using an eight-speed ZF transaxle with shift strategies from the Vantage GT4 race car.

BYD put the Qin Max on sale in China on 13 August at ¥99,900 to ¥143,900 ($14,700 to $21,200), two days after launching the 2027 Seal 06 at ¥99,900 to ¥155,900. The two sedans share a 2,820 mm wheelbase, the same DM-i and EV powertrains and the same second-generation Blade battery, and their bodies are 4 mm apart in length. What separates them is the dealer network.

Kia has priced the 2027 EV3 across seven configurations, from $29,890 to $45,890 before a $1,495 destination charge. The version that travels furthest, 321 miles (517 km), is the second-cheapest one, and every all-wheel-drive trim above it is rated lower.

Lucid has revealed the Gravity GT-S at Monterey Car Week, a three-row electric SUV with 1,070 hp that reaches 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.1 seconds. It starts at $125,900 plus an $1,850 destination charge, and the extra power was paid for in range rather than battery.

Chery Jaguar Land Rover priced its first Freelander-badged model from 339,900 yuan (about $50,100), rising to 429,900 yuan for the top six-seater. The venture had publicly aimed at the 300,000 yuan segment, and the entry car lands 13 percent above that target.

Great Wall's premium brand put its five-seat flagship SUV on sale in five trims from 239,800 yuan (about $35,300). The V8X is a plug-in hybrid, but certified electric-only range spans 258 km to 402 km across the lineup, so which trim you buy changes the car more than the badge suggests.
