In January 2026, 87.4% of new cars sold in Kazakhstan were assembled domestically. 2025 was a record year: 171,144 units produced, 234,852 sold. All top-10 selling models are built in-country.

2025 in numbers:

  • 171,144 units produced — all-time industry record
  • Production volume exceeded 2.3 trillion tenge
  • 234,852 new cars sold — +14.4% vs 2024
  • All 10 best-selling models are locally produced

Two major plants opened in 2025:

AMMKZ (Almaty) — September 2025. Described as the world’s first multi-brand full-cycle plant: produces Chery, Changan, and GWM models under one roof. Capacity: up to 120,000 vehicles/year.

KIA Qazaqstan (Kostanay) — October 2025. The first Kia plant outside South Korea funded by direct company investment. Investment: 131.5 billion tenge. Capacity: 70,000 vehicles/year.
