In January 2026, 87.4% of all new cars sold in Kazakhstan were assembled inside the country. The industry reached that point through two record years running.
2025 in numbers:

Two major plants opened in 2025:
AMMKZ (Almaty) — September 2025. Described as the world’s first multi-brand full-cycle plant: produces Chery, Changan, and GWM models under one roof. Capacity: up to 120,000 vehicles/year.
KIA Qazaqstan (Kostanay) — October 2025. The first Kia plant outside South Korea funded by direct company investment. Investment: 131.5 billion tenge. Capacity: 70,000 vehicles/year.
