The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado is the fifth generation of the full-size pickup that anchors Chevrolet’s US lineup. Revealed in June 2026, it goes on sale in America by the end of the year, with pricing to follow closer to launch. The trim walk is reshuffled: the old LT grade is dropped and its name handed to a mid-range trim called simply Silverado, leaving seven versions in total - Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss, Silverado, ZR2 and High Country.
The engine range mixes carryover and new units, all paired with a 10-speed automatic. The 3.0-litre Duramax turbodiesel returns with 309 hp and the 2.7-litre TurboMax turbo-four with 314 hp. Above them sit two new V8s, 5.7 and 6.6 litres, replacing the previous 5.3 and 6.2-litre engines that made 360 and 426 hp. Chevrolet has not yet published outputs for the new V8s.
Inside, every trim gets a 12.2-inch instrument cluster and a 16.3-inch central touchscreen. The ZR2 and High Country add an 11.5-inch passenger display and a digital rearview mirror. Exterior changes bring new LED headlights, redesigned tail lights, a new grille and squared-off wheel-arch cladding.
The range is bookended by two specialists. The ZR2 is the off-road flagship, riding on 35-inch tyres with front and rear locking differentials, Multimatic DSSV dampers and carbon-fibre-look trim. The High Country plays the luxury role, with 22-inch wheels, a panoramic roof and open-pore wood interior trim.
