Hyundai has revealed the Ioniq V, a large electric sedan built exclusively for the Chinese market and produced at the Beijing Hyundai plant. It is the first in a series of localised models under the Ioniq sub-brand.
The production car is unusually faithful to the Venus concept that previewed it. The silhouette, proportions, and two-tier lighting signature all made it through to production largely unaltered. Up front, narrow LED daytime running strips sit at the top of the fascia while the main headlights are mounted lower; at the rear, a single thin strip spans the full width.
The centrepiece of the interior is a 27-inch horizontal tablet that stretches across the entire dashboard.
The car measures 4,900 mm in length on a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Hyundai has confirmed CATL as the battery supplier but has not yet disclosed powertrain output, range, or pricing. A crossover based on the Earth concept is expected to follow.
