Hyundai is recalling 47,749 Kona and Kona Electric SUVs in the United States over a rear center seat belt buckle that may not restrain an occupant in a crash. The defect traces to a supplier manufacturing issue; Hyundai has not received reports of accidents or injuries. Dealers will replace the buckle for free; owner notifications start September 11, 2026.
