The Hyundai Ioniq V is a China-only electric fastback unveiled at Auto China 2026 in April, built through the Beijing Hyundai joint venture with BAIC Group. It is the first model in a planned run of 20 new vehicles the partners committed to launching in China over five years, backed by an 8 billion yuan investment. The car measures 4,900 mm long and 1,890 mm wide on a 2,900 mm wheelbase, placing it in the midsize segment, and introduces Hyundai’s new “The Origin” design language for its China EV lineup.
Two battery options are offered, both using lithium iron phosphate cells supplied by CATL. The entry pack is 53.5 kWh paired with a 188 hp motor for a targeted CLTC range of 520 to 540 km, while the larger 66.8 kWh pack pairs with a 225 hp motor for 620 to 650 km.
Inside, the Ioniq V is built around a 27-inch 4K panoramic display running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, paired with an LLM-based Smart AI Assistant developed for the China market.
Hyundai has not announced pricing or an on-sale date for the Ioniq V beyond its April 2026 unveiling.
