Taiwan's homegrown car brand, a wholly owned subsidiary of Yulon Motor launched in 2009. Luxgen builds sedans, crossovers and, since 2023, EVs developed with Foxconn's Foxtron joint venture on the MIH open EV platform.
The Luxgen n7 is Taiwan's first mass-produced electric crossover, built by Foxtron (the Foxconn-Yulon joint venture) on Foxconn's open MIH platform. It is sold globally through Foxconn's contract-manufacturing partners as the Model C. Buyers choose between a 230 hp rear-drive Standard, a 230 hp rear-drive Long Range with up to 664 km NEDC range, and a 462 hp all-wheel- drive Long Range, with an optional third row.
Luxgen was launched in 2009 as Yulon Motor’s homegrown car brand, combining “luxury” and “genius” into its name to signal Taiwan’s ambition to build its own passenger cars rather than only assemble licensed foreign designs. It is headquartered in Miaoli County, Taiwan, and remains a wholly owned Yulon subsidiary.
The brand’s lineup has historically centered on sedans and crossovers sold in Taiwan and, for a period, mainland China. Since 2023, Luxgen has shifted toward electric vehicles built through Foxtron, the joint venture Yulon formed with electronics manufacturer Foxconn. Foxtron models use Foxconn’s MIH platform, an open EV architecture Foxconn also offers to other automakers as part of its contract-manufacturing ambitions in the EV business.
