Haval
Great Wall Motor's mainstream SUV brand, launched in 2013 to house all of GWM's crossover and SUV models under one name. Haval is GWM's highest-volume brand worldwide and has expanded into plug-in hybrid and range-extender powertrains alongside its traditional gas SUVs.
Haval was created by Great Wall Motor in 2013 to consolidate the company’s SUV and crossover lineup under a single brand, after GWM’s earlier models had been sold under mixed naming. It quickly became GWM’s largest-selling brand and one of the best-selling SUV brands in China.
The Haval range spans compact crossovers through full-size flagship SUVs, sold with gasoline, plug-in hybrid and range-extender powertrains. Newer models increasingly use GWM’s Hi4 hybrid system, combining a turbocharged engine with one or more electric motors for part-time all-wheel drive and long combined range. Haval has also expanded into export markets across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Russia.
