The Type 01 is the first production car of Jaguar’s electric-only relaunch, a four-door grand tourer roughly 5.2 m long built on JLR’s new JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) platform. It follows the Type 00 concept Jaguar showed in December 2024, carrying over that car’s design language into a production body. Jaguar builds it at JLR’s Solihull plant in the UK, with battery assembly at the group’s Wolverhampton plant.
Three electric motors - one at the front axle, two at the rear - combine for around 1,000 hp and 1,300 Nm, enough for a 0-62 mph time just over three seconds despite a curb weight near 2,700 kg. The 120 kWh battery runs an 850V architecture, with a claimed WLTP range past 700 km (435 miles) and 350 kW peak charging that adds roughly 320 km (200 miles) in 15 minutes.
Jaguar has camouflaged prototypes testing publicly since a May 2026 demonstration at the Monaco Formula E E-Prix, ahead of a full reveal planned for October 2026 in New York. Pricing is expected to start near £120,000, with the brand targeting a “center of gravity” around £140,000. Orders open in the second half of 2026, with first deliveries to UK and US customers due in 2027.
