The second-generation MG ZS is a compact SUV measuring 4,430 mm long, sold in Spain primarily as the Hybrid+, MG’s name for a self-charging hybrid powertrain. It pairs a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with an electric motor through a 3-speed automatic gearbox, for a combined 197 hp system output and a 0-100 km/h time of 8.7 seconds. The car’s own 1.83 kWh battery is charged only by the engine and regenerative braking, not from an external plug.
Alongside the Hybrid+, MG introduced a simpler entry point to the range in 2026: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 116 hp, paired with a 5-speed manual and no electrification at all. That version starts from 19,283.50 euros in Standard trim, rising to 22,823.50 euros in Comfort, undercutting the Hybrid+ by roughly 2,600 euros and positioning the ZS as one of the cheapest SUVs over 4.4 metres long on the Spanish market.
Both versions share the same body and interior, built around a 4,430 mm length, 1,818 mm width and 2,610 mm wheelbase. The battery-electric ZS EV that once sat alongside the petrol and hybrid models has been discontinued, replaced in MG’s European lineup by the separate, dedicated MGS5 EV.
The ZS Hybrid+ carries a seven-year manufacturer warranty in Spain and an official combined fuel economy figure of around 5.0 l/100 km, positioning it as one of the more affordable self-charging hybrid SUVs sold in the country.
