Overview

The current F66-generation MINI Cooper 3-door debuted in 2024 as a petrol-only counterpart to MINI’s electric Cooper, built at BMW Group’s Plant Oxford in England. It measures 3,876 mm long on a 2,495 mm wheelbase, a compact footprint aimed squarely at the traditional three-door hot hatch segment.

The range opens with the Cooper C, using a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo producing 154 hp and 230 Nm, reaching 0-62 mph in 7.7 seconds. The Cooper S steps up to a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo with 201 hp and 300 Nm, cutting that time to 6.6 seconds and raising the top speed to 242 km/h. Both engines route through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Inside, the F66 Cooper replaces MINI’s previous instrument layout with a circular OLED touchscreen mounted centrally on the dashboard, running a redesigned interface with selectable “experience modes” that change the ambient lighting and graphics. Physical buttons are minimal, with most functions controlled through the round screen or a small toggle switch.

UK prices start from £25,485 for the Cooper C and rise to around £33,550 across the range depending on trim and options, with Classic, Exclusive and Sport trim levels available on both engines.
