Overview

The Seat Arona is a subcompact SUV built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform, sharing its mechanical basis with the Ibiza hatchback while adding a taller, SUV-style body. It measures 4,138 mm long on a 2,566 mm wheelbase, and like the Ibiza, it is assembled at Seat’s Martorell plant near Barcelona.

The range is petrol-only. A 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder opens the lineup at 95 hp and 175 Nm through a 5-speed manual, stepping up to 115 hp and 200 Nm with a choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic. The range-topping 1.5 TSI turbo four-cylinder produces 150 hp and 250 Nm, paired exclusively with the DSG gearbox.

All Arona trims get LED exterior lighting as standard, along with a free-standing touchscreen infotainment display, features carried over from the model’s first facelift. Seat has not brought a mild-hybrid or plug-in variant to this generation, keeping the Arona’s lineup entirely conventional petrol.

The Arona remains one of Seat’s steadiest sellers in its home Spanish market, where its combination of the Ibiza’s compact footprint and SUV styling has made it a fixture of the subcompact crossover segment.
