Aston Martin revealed the Valen at The Quail during Monterey Car Week on 14 August 2026. It is a run of 150 cars built through Q by Aston Martin, the company’s commissioning department, powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 making 850 PS (838 hp) and 1,000 Nm from 2,500 rpm. Aston Martin quotes 0-60 mph in 3.0 seconds, a limited 214 mph (344 km/h), and calls the car the most powerful front-engined production car in the world.
The gearbox
The Valen is the third low-volume V12 Aston Martin has built in four years, after the Valour in 2023 and the Valiant in 2024. Both of those used a six-speed manual, and in both cases the manual was the point: the Valour was sold as a 110th-anniversary car for people who wanted a clutch pedal behind a twin-turbo V12, and the Valiant was a harder-edged version of the same idea.
The Valen drops it. In its place is an eight-speed ZF automatic mounted at the rear axle as a transaxle, running shift strategies developed for the Vantage GT4 race car. In practice that means the gearbox holds a gear under load rather than upshifting for economy, blips the throttle on downshifts and cuts shift times to a fraction of what a driver can do with a lever. It also comes with more engine to work with: the manual Valour and Valiant were rated at 705 hp, and the Valen adds 133 hp on top of that.
Chassis and weight
The body is carbon fibre and the rear subframe is bolted directly to it rather than mounted on rubber bushes, which sharpens steering response at the cost of transmitting more noise and vibration into the cabin. Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers sit on model-specific springs, magnesium wheels are standard, and the carbon-ceramic brakes measure 410 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear. Aston Martin quotes weight savings of up to 110 kg against its core V12 platform, with another 16.9 kg available through a lightweight pack.
Price and deliveries
Aston Martin has not published a price. UK reports at the reveal put it at about GBP 1.5 million ($2.0 million) before options and taxes, and each of the 150 cars is specified individually, so the figure is a starting point rather than a list price. First deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
