USAHonda is reportedly considering a return of the Accord Crosstour, a raised liftback for buyers who find the sedan too small but don’t want a full-size SUV. According to Automotive News, the project carries the internal name Accord SUV and is aimed at the US market.
The model would reportedly keep the Accord’s long-wheelbase platform while adding greater ground clearance, larger wheels, plastic body cladding and a bigger cargo area. Production could start in mid-2029 at Honda’s plant in Marysville, Ohio, alongside the next-generation Accord.
A next-generation hybrid powertrain is expected, with a new traction motor, generator and battery. The main rival would be the Subaru Outback: according to Edmunds, the Outback ranked among the top 10 models that former Honda owners switched to between 2020 and 2025.
The project remains unconfirmed. Honda told Car and Driver that the report isn’t based on any of its announcements and that it has no current plans to build such a vehicle.
