Ferrari was founded by Enzo Ferrari in Maranello in 1947, growing out of the Scuderia Ferrari racing team he had established in 1929. The company has built its road cars around its Formula 1 programme since the beginning — technology, materials, and aerodynamic knowledge cross over between the race team and the production line.
Production volume is kept intentionally low. Ferrari has consistently described limiting supply as a core part of its business model; the company regularly turns away orders to protect resale values and waiting lists. In 2024, the company produced around 13,700 cars worldwide.
The current lineup spans the Roma, 296 GTB, SF90 Stradale, 812 Competizione, Purosangue SUV, and several limited-edition variants. The Luce, unveiled in May 2026, is the brand’s first fully electric model and its first four-door, five-seat car.
Ferrari’s Formula 1 team, Scuderia Ferrari, is the oldest and most successful constructor in the sport’s history.
