American electric-vehicle maker headquartered in Newark, California, trading on the Nasdaq as LCID. Lucid builds the Air sedan and the three-row Gravity SUV at its plant in Casa Grande, Arizona, and develops its motors, battery packs and software in house.
The Lucid Gravity GT-S is the performance version of Lucid's three-row electric SUV, with 1,070 hp, a 3.1-second 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time and seating for up to seven. Lucid projects 373 miles (600 km) of range. Prices start at $125,900 before a $1,850 destination charge, with US deliveries due late in 2026.
Lucid Group was founded in 2007 as Atieva, a battery and powertrain supplier, and took the Lucid Motors name in 2016 when it committed to building complete cars. It is headquartered in Newark, California, and is publicly traded on the Nasdaq, with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund holding a controlling stake of about 57 percent.
The company designs and manufactures its own electric motors, battery packs, inverters and vehicle software rather than buying them in, an approach it credits for the efficiency figures its cars are known for. Through its technology arm Atieva it also co-developed the spec battery pack fitted to every second-generation Formula E car from the 2018/19 season onwards.
Lucid’s first product was the Air, a full-size electric sedan launched in 2021 and offered from the Pure through to the performance Air Sapphire. The three-row Gravity SUV followed in 2024, and in August 2026 Lucid added the 1,070 hp Gravity GT-S, which draws on the Sapphire’s drivetrain and chassis work.
All Lucid vehicles are assembled at the company’s AMP-1 plant in Casa Grande, Arizona, which opened in 2021 and remains its only volume factory.
