Lucid’s AMP-1 plant, short for Advanced Manufacturing Plant 1, stands in Casa Grande, Arizona, between Phoenix and Tucson. Lucid describes it as the first purpose-built electric-vehicle factory constructed from the ground up in North America, rather than converted from an existing site. The first construction phase finished in December 2020, and customer cars began coming off the line in 2021.

The plant assembles every vehicle Lucid sells. It opened building the Air saloon, with capacity for roughly 34,000 cars a year, and added the three-row Gravity SUV in 2024. The Gravity GT-S, announced in August 2026 with 1,070 hp, is built on the same lines.

Lucid laid out the site for staged expansion across a 495-acre plot, with further phases planned through 2028 that would take the manufacturing footprint beyond 5 million square feet (about 465,000 m²). Those plans were drawn up before the cost reductions Lucid announced in mid-2026, when the company set out a $1.4bn cash-reduction programme for the year that included lower capital spending.
