The Nissan Frontier is a mid-size pickup truck sold in North America. It sits on the same platform introduced with the third generation in 2022, sharing architecture with the Nissan Pathfinder and Xterra. The 3.8-litre V6 and 9-speed automatic carry across the full range unchanged for 2027.
Body configurations are King Cab and Crew Cab. King Cab is available only on the base S trim; all other grades use the Crew Cab. The trim ladder runs S, SV, Pro-X, and Pro-4X, with 4x2 and 4x4 options depending on grade. Standard S equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, a 7-inch instrument cluster, and an 8-inch infotainment screen.
The 2027 update introduces the Sport Edition, a $990 package on the SV trim that borrows styling cues from the off-road Pro-4X. It adds 17-inch black wheels shod with Hankook Dynapro 265/70R17 all-terrain tires, an aluminum skid plate, LED fog lights, black grille and front bumper trim, black mirror housings, and yellow interior stitching with Sport badging on the seat backs. Pro-X and Pro-4X trims gain a sunroof option and wireless smartphone charging for the 2027 year. Alpine Metallic is added as a new colour.
Pricing opens at $32,490 for the King Cab S in rear-drive form and reaches $42,690 for the Pro-4X Crew Cab 4x4. The Sport Edition is priced at $990 above the SV grade. Sales in the US began in June 2026.
