The RAV4 Rongfang is FAW Toyota’s China-market version of the RAV4, built on the same TNGA-K platform and measuring 4,620 mm long on a 2,690 mm wheelbase. It is a separate model from the GAC Toyota Wildlander, Toyota’s other China-built RAV4-platform SUV, reflecting the country’s practice of running parallel joint-venture lineups through its two Chinese partners.
Six trims cover three powertrains. The entry 2.0-litre petrol engine makes 171 hp with no electrification. Above it, Toyota’s dual-engine hybrid system splits into a 2.0-litre front-wheel-drive version at 193 hp and a 2.5-litre hybrid flagship with the E-Four electric all-wheel-drive system, reaching 237 hp and a claimed 8.7-second 0-100 km/h time.
The flagship trim adds equipment such as a 26.4-inch head-up display, heated steering wheel, facial recognition, remote parking, in-cabin vital-sign monitoring, ventilated front seats, and an air purifier with air-quality monitoring, on top of the shared 15.6-inch touchscreen running Toyota’s locally-tuned software.
Official guided pricing runs from ¥169,800 to ¥228,800 across the lineup, with the hybrid versions accounting for four of the six trims.
