The Volvo EX90 is the brand’s full-size electric flagship, built on the SPA2 platform and sold as a seven-seat SUV. In the US it is offered across three powertrains: a rear-drive Single Motor rated at 329 hp, an all-wheel-drive Twin Motor at 442 hp (badged 449 hp for Europe’s 2026 model year), and a Twin Motor Performance at 670 hp. EPA range runs from 293 miles on the Single Motor up to 305 miles on the Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance, with 0-60 mph times spanning 6.6 seconds down to 4.0 seconds at the top of the range.
For the 2026 model year, Volvo added a Black Edition appearance package to the EX90 lineup, available across all three powertrains without any mechanical changes. The package swaps in gloss-black badges, a gloss-black grille, 22-inch wheels and additional black exterior trim. Inside, buyers get a choice of two all-black cabin finishes with a Charcoal headliner and aluminum decorative trim. Black Edition cars can be ordered in Onyx Black, Crystal White, Denim Blue or Vapour Grey, and the EX90 becomes the sixth Volvo model to receive the treatment.
The EX90 carries Volvo’s usual flagship tech set, including standard lidar hardware and a large center touchscreen, positioned as the range-topping showcase for the brand’s electric platform. Orders for the Black Edition package have opened in a number of European markets alongside its US rollout.
