Acura has shared a North American roadmap with its US dealers that adds three SUVs to a line-up of four models today: the Integra, ADX, RDX and MDX. The first arrives in the first part of 2028.
The three SUVs
The first is an “adventure-ready” SUV, set to arrive in the first part of 2028. Acura has not given its name or specifications.
The second is an 8-passenger SUV that Acura calls its largest ever, positioned above the 7-passenger MDX. It is “currently in development”, with no launch date.
The third is the all-new fourth-generation RDX Hybrid, which Acura had already announced for 2028. It will be the first Acura with the company’s two-motor hybrid system.
A new V6 hybrid
Acura also has a new V6 hybrid powertrain in development for its D-segment models. It says the unit is aimed at sporty performance, better towing capability and efficiency. The release does not say which models get it first.
What the release leaves out
In July we reported, citing Automotive News, that a three-row flagship above the MDX was planned for around 2029, under the working name Acura XL and built in Alabama. The release confirms the car but none of those details: no date, name or factory.
Acura says its US sales rose 4.4% in the first three quarters of 2026, with the MDX up more than 25%.
