Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus SE Performante, the most powerful version of its Super SUV to date. It sits above the Urus SE in the lineup, adding power, cutting weight, and reworking the suspension and aerodynamics rather than changing the car’s basic hybrid architecture.
Powertrain and performance
The Urus SE Performante pairs a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with a permanent-magnet electric motor for a combined 812 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, sent through an 8-speed automatic to all four wheels. A 25.9 kWh battery gives it more than 60 km of electric-only range. Lamborghini quotes 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 10.8 seconds, and a 312 km/h top speed.
Weight and chassis
At 2,473 kg, the SE Performante is 32 kg lighter than the standard Urus SE, for a power-to-weight ratio of 3 kg per horsepower. A titanium Akrapovič exhaust alone accounts for more than 10 kg of the saving, alongside exposed carbon fibre on the hood, bumpers, roof, diffuser and spoilers.
The chassis gets a new AURA suspension architecture with dual-chamber, dual-valve air springs (“2K2V”) that let each axle’s stiffness be tuned independently by drive mode. Lamborghini says the setup cuts body roll by 55 percent and vibration by 25 percent versus the outgoing Urus Performante, while the Rally drive mode has been retuned for loose surfaces.
Aerodynamics
Bodywork changes include a new hood, new bumpers, two rear spoilers and extended use of carbon fibre, together raising downforce by 16 percent over the previous Urus Performante.
Lamborghini has not announced pricing or an on-sale date for the Urus SE Performante.
