Nissan unveiled the Tekton on July 9, 2026, a compact crossover built for India and other emerging markets. It shares its platform with the India-market Renault Duster and is produced at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai, taking over from the Nissan Terrano as the brand’s Duster-based SUV for the region.
Two turbo petrol options
The Tekton launches with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100 hp and 166 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual and front-wheel drive. A 1.3-litre turbo petrol steps up to 163 hp and 280 Nm, available with either the manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Patrol-inspired design
Nissan drew on the Patrol’s design language for the Tekton’s front end, headlight, and taillight graphics, giving the compact SUV a wider, more upright face than the Terrano it replaces. Base trims include LED lighting, air conditioning, power windows, and an Arkamys audio system. Top trims add adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and Arkamys Auditorium 3D sound.
Pricing
Indian pricing runs from ₹1,049,000 (about $11,000) to ₹1,859,000 (about $19,490), spanning the base 1.0-litre trim to the fully equipped 1.3-litre range. Nissan has not detailed a rollout schedule for other emerging markets beyond India.
