Dongfeng Nissan has released the first official images of the NX7, a compact SUV that will sit below the recently launched NX8. Together with the N6 and N7 sedans it becomes the fourth car in the N-series, the range Nissan develops in China for China.
The production car looks to be built on the Nissan Urban concept, keeping its split headlights, smooth nose and floating roofline. A lidar unit sits above the windscreen for an extended driver-assistance package. The door handles are semi-flush, where the rest of the N-series uses fully retracting ones - a small detail, but the kind that usually reflects a cost target rather than a styling preference.
What Nissan has not released is everything else. There are no dimensions, no interior images and no technical specifications. The Urban concept was presented as a plug-in hybrid, so a range-extended version is the expectation; Chinese media have also reported a battery-electric NX7, which Nissan has not confirmed. The NX8 offers both, on an 800V architecture, which is the obvious hardware for a smaller sibling to share.
Chinese sales are planned before the end of 2026. Nissan has confirmed it intends to take the N-series beyond China, though it has not said whether the NX7 is one of the cars going, or where.
