The CT5-V Blackwing is the most powerful version of Cadillac’s CT5 mid-size sedan and the brand’s performance flagship. It is assembled at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
Powertrain: A supercharged 6.2-litre V8 produces 668 hp and 893 Nm (659 lb-ft) and drives the rear wheels. A six-speed manual is standard and a 10-speed automatic is a $5,875 option. Top speed is 336 km/h (209 mph).
Price: The manual car lists from $98,900 and the automatic from $104,775.
Size: The sedan is 4,950 mm long, 1,882 mm wide and 1,435 mm tall.
F1 Collector Series
For its first Formula 1 season Cadillac built 26 CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series cars, for the United States and Canada only. A new supercharger developed with GM Motorsports raises output to 685 hp and 913 Nm (673 lb-ft), and the six-speed manual is the only gearbox. The Precision Package, an option on the regular car that brings upgraded adaptive suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres, is standard.
The only colour is Midnight Stone Frost, with Carbon Flash Metallic forged wheels, gloss-black badges and a carbon-fibre splitter, sills, diffuser and spoiler carrying a silver pinstripe. F1 and FIA logos sit on the doors, spoiler and sills and under the bonnet; inside there are illuminated “Cadillac Formula 1” sill plates and F1-embroidered headrests. Cadillac has not announced its price.
