Overview

The Ebro s700 is a compact SUV and the model that restarted vehicle production in Barcelona’s Zona Franca, the plant Nissan closed at the end of 2021. It is derived from the second-generation Chery Tiggo 7 and assembled by Ebro Factory, the joint venture between the Catalan company EV Motors and Chery, which announced roughly 400 million euros of investment in the site. The first car came off the line in November 2024. It measures 4,553 mm long, 1,862 mm wide and 1,696 mm tall, with a 369-litre boot.

Three powertrains are offered, all front-wheel drive. The petrol version uses a 1.6-litre turbo four rated at 147 CV (145 hp) with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, returning 7.8 l/100 km on the WLTP cycle. The full hybrid, added in February 2026, pairs a 1.5-litre turbo with electric drive for a combined 165 kW, quoted as 224 CV (221 hp), and 295 Nm, running through a dedicated two-speed hybrid transmission for 5.7 l/100 km and a 175 km/h top speed. Its 1.83 kWh battery recharges itself and cannot be plugged in.

The plug-in hybrid is the fastest and the most expensive. It combines the same 1.5-litre turbo with a 205 kW combined output, quoted as 279 CV (275 hp), for 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and 180 km/h. An 18.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery gives 90 km of WLTP electric range and 1,200 km combined, with weighted consumption of 2.4 l/100 km and 54 g/km of CO2. It charges at up to 6.6 kW on AC or 40 kW on DC, which covers 30 to 80 percent in 19 minutes.

Inside, the s700 carries a large central touchscreen, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats and a panoramic roof on higher trims. Ebro fits 24 driver-assistance systems as standard and quotes a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Spanish list prices start at about EUR 27,641 for the petrol car, EUR 31,499 for the hybrid and EUR 35,840 for the plug-in hybrid, though the brand runs frequent promotional pricing below those figures.
