The IM L6 is the electric fastback sedan that sits below the LS8 in IM Motors’ range, renewed for 2026 and taken to pre-sale on 18 August. IM Motors is SAIC’s premium electric brand, and the L6 is the model it exports under the MG badge as the MG IM5.
Powertrain. Three trims, two of them rear-wheel drive. Max pairs a 245 kW (333 hp) rear motor with a 76 kWh battery for 725 km of CLTC range. Pro Max steps the motor to 300 kW (408 hp) and the battery to 93 kWh for 850 km, the longest in the range. Ultra adds a front motor for all-wheel drive and 500 kW (680 hp) combined with 800 Nm, and its 103 kWh pack returns 840 km.
Charging. The architecture is 800 volts throughout and peak charging is quoted at 396 kW. IM’s own claim is 580 km of CLTC range recovered in 15 minutes.
Inside. The cabin runs on a Qualcomm 8295 chip with IM’s IMOS software. Driver assistance is IM AD, with LiDAR and mapless urban navigation on the assisted-driving system.
The Jimmy Choo edition. A limited edition developed with the footwear designer Jimmy Choo runs alongside the standard car, capped at 1,000 units and priced at ¥244,900 and ¥259,900. It is a trim and colour package: the mechanical specification matches the rear-drive versions above.
Body dimensions come from the model’s Chinese type filing: 4,924 mm long on a 2,950 mm wheelbase.
