Overview

The MG 07 is SAIC’s flagship fastback for the Chinese market, replacing the MG 7 that launched in 2023. It measures 4,886 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,485 mm tall on a 2,825 mm wheelbase, and is built on SAIC’s E3 “Nebula” modular platform at the group’s Zhengzhou plant. Pre-sales opened on 29 July 2026 and the car went on sale on 21 August at the Chengdu Auto Show, with seven trims priced from ¥108,900 to ¥159,900 ($16,100 to $23,600). Every electric trim launched below its pre-sale price, by ¥9,000 on the 67 kWh cars and ¥6,000 on the 91 kWh cars.

The electric range splits cleanly in two. The EV 650 Comfort, EV 610 LiDAR and EV 610 Flagship share a 67 kWh semi-solid-state battery from QingTao Energy and a 176 kW (236 hp) motor, reaching 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds on a 400V architecture with 3C charging, quoted at roughly 20 minutes for 30 to 80 percent. Range is 650 km CLTC on the base car and 610 km on the two lidar-equipped trims, which carry more hardware. The EV 845 LiDAR and EV 845 Flagship step up to a 91 kWh CATL ternary lithium pack and a 235 kW (315 hp) motor, 5.9 seconds to 100 km/h, on an 800V architecture with 5C charging rated at 12 minutes for the same window. The 845 km figure is CLTC, the Chinese cycle, which returns higher numbers than WLTP or EPA testing.

Two plug-in hybrids sit below the electric cars. The Hybrid 245 Comfort and Hybrid 245 LiDAR combine a 1.5-litre engine rated at 82 kW (110 hp) with a 152 kW (204 hp) drive motor and a 30 kWh CATL battery, giving 245 km of CLTC electric range and 1,745 km combined. Fuel consumption with the battery depleted is 2.91 l/100 km, and the pack takes 3C charging, 15 minutes from 30 to 80 percent.

The 07 is the first MG sold with lidar. Every trim above the two Comfort versions carries a roof-mounted unit plus 11 exterior cameras, running Momenta’s R7 “world model” driver-assistance software; the EV 650 Comfort uses a camera-only system built on a Horizon Robotics Journey J6B chip. Inside, all trims get a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen, an 8.88-inch instrument display, a 21-speaker 7.1.4-channel audio system, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor and a reclining “Zero Gravity” front passenger seat.

Deliveries of the 650 km electric cars and the hybrids began at the end of August 2026, with the 845 km versions following in October.

How much does the MG 07 cost?
Official prices run from ¥108,900 to ¥159,900 ($16,100 to $23,600) across seven trims. The Hybrid 245 Comfort opens the range at ¥108,900 and the EV 845 Flagship tops it at ¥159,900. A launch offer takes a further ¥3,000 off every trim. Every electric trim launched below its July pre-sale price, by ¥9,000 on the 67 kWh cars and ¥6,000 on the 91 kWh cars.
Which MG 07 versions get the semi-solid-state battery?
The three cheaper electric trims. The EV 650 Comfort, EV 610 LiDAR and EV 610 Flagship all use a 67 kWh semi-solid-state pack from QingTao Energy, a SAIC-backed battery maker. The two long-range trims, the EV 845 LiDAR and EV 845 Flagship, use a conventional 91 kWh CATL ternary lithium pack instead. The newer chemistry is in the less expensive cars, not the longest-range ones.
Does the MG 07 come as a plug-in hybrid?
Yes. Two plug-in hybrid trims went on sale in August 2026, the Hybrid 245 Comfort at ¥108,900 and the Hybrid 245 LiDAR at ¥118,900. Both pair a 1.5-litre engine rated at 82 kW (110 hp) with a 152 kW (204 hp) drive motor and a 30 kWh CATL battery for 245 km of CLTC electric range and 1,745 km combined, with fuel consumption of 2.91 l/100 km once the battery is depleted.
Which MG 07 trims have lidar?
All except the two Comfort versions. The trims above them carry a roof-mounted lidar unit and 11 exterior cameras running Momenta's R7 driver-assistance system, which makes the 07 the first MG fitted with lidar. The EV 650 Comfort uses a camera-based system on a Horizon Robotics Journey J6B chip instead.
How quickly does the MG 07 charge?
It depends on the battery. The 845 km versions run an 800V architecture with 5C peak charging and are quoted at 12 minutes for 30 to 80 percent. The 67 kWh versions use a 400V architecture with 3C charging and take around 20 minutes for the same 30 to 80 percent window. The plug-in hybrid's 30 kWh pack takes 3C charging and is quoted at 15 minutes.
