Jaguar Type 01 overview
The Type 01 is the first production car of Jaguar’s electric-only relaunch, a four-door grand tourer and the first Jaguar built on the JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) platform. It is the production follow-up to the Type 00 concept shown in December 2024, and Jaguar revealed it in New York on 6 October 2026. Jaguar designs, engineers and builds it in the UK, at JLR’s Solihull plant.
The body is 5,235 mm long and 1,403 mm tall on a 3,200 mm wheelbase. Jaguar quotes a drag coefficient of 0.23, helped by active vanes and a three-stage deployable rear spoiler, and 50:50 weight distribution. It rides on 23-inch wheels, with a 21-inch all-season wheel as the alternative.
Jaguar Type 01 specs and range
Three electric motors with torque vectoring give the Type 01 up to 1,030 PS (1,015 hp) and 1,365 Nm, which makes it the most powerful Jaguar road car. Jaguar quotes 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds (0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds) and 100-180 km/h in 4.0 seconds.
The battery holds 118 kWh usable on an 850-volt architecture. Jaguar estimates up to 720 km (450 miles) of WLTP range ahead of certification, and an anticipated EPA range of up to 400 miles. On a 350 kW DC charger it adds up to 200 miles (321 km) in 13 minutes.
Jaguar Type 01 interior
The cabin is laid out as four individual seats either side of a central spine, trimmed in brass-effect anodised aluminium that runs from front to back. A 24-inch single-glass OLED screen sits ahead of the driver and runs the new Jaguar infotainment system, while a seven-inch smartphone-style touchscreen between the front seats carries the most-used controls. Audio comes from the Jaguar Immersive Sound System, with a full-width Panoramic Soundbar and Sensory Audio seats.
Jaguar Type 01 price and release date
Jaguar prices the Type 01 from £130,000 (~$178,100) in the UK, and Reuters reported a US starting price of $130,500. The first in a series of Type 01 editions Jaguar calls curations is Design Vision, finished in an exclusive Visionary Silver Satin paint. Orders open in early 2027, with first customer deliveries due in the second half of the year.
