Mercedes-Benz revealed the C-Class Electric on 20 April 2026, the first battery-electric version to carry the C-Class name. Unlike the discontinued EQC, it sits on the dedicated MB.EA electric platform Mercedes also uses for its electric E-Class and S-Class, with an 800-volt electrical system.
The launch version, the C 400 4MATIC electric, pairs two motors for 489 hp and 800 Nm combined, with all-wheel drive and a 4.0-second 0-100 km/h time. A 94 kWh net battery delivers up to 762 km of WLTP range, and the car can add 319 km of range in 10 minutes on a 330 kW DC charger. Mercedes has said a rear-wheel-drive single-motor version will follow with more than 800 km of range.
Inside, the car is available with an MBUX Hyperscreen spanning close to 10 million pixels, adaptive air suspension, and rear-wheel steering that turns up to 4.5 degrees at low speed. The exterior carries an illuminated grille with 1,050 LEDs and a lit three-pointed star.
Production starts at Mercedes’ Kecskemet plant in Hungary in 2026, with a longer-wheelbase C-Class Electric L built in Beijing for China. Mercedes has not announced pricing, and says the C 400 4MATIC electric launches in the second half of 2026.
