Mercedes-Benz recalls 310,667 US vehicles over a door-latch fault

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 310,667 vehicles in the US after moisture can enter a faulty door-latch microswitch supplied for the driver's door, which can stop the car from detecting that the door is open and keep the electronic parking brake or Auto-Park from engaging. No accidents have been reported.

Mercedes-Benz has recalled 310,667 vehicles in the US over a microswitch fault in the driver’s door latch that a supplier error can let moisture reach over time. As the contacts degrade, the car can stop registering that the driver’s door is open.

That failure matters because the car uses the door-open signal to decide when to arm the electronic parking brake or the Auto-Park feature. If the switch has failed, those systems may not engage automatically when the driver gets out, and the car can roll away unattended.

Mercedes says no accidents tied to the defect have been reported. The company traced the fault after receiving 176 complaints from owners who found the infotainment system and exterior lights stayed on after the driver’s door was opened, an early symptom of the same switch failure.

The recall covers the A-Class, CLA, C-Class, CLE, GLA, GLB, and GLC across multiple model years. Dealers will replace the driver’s door latch free of charge. Cars built after May 20, 2026 already carry the revised part.
