The NIO ES9 is the brand’s three-row flagship SUV, launched on 27 May 2026 and built on the NT 3.0 platform with a 900V high-voltage architecture. It measures 5,365 mm long on a 3,250 mm wheelbase, making it one of the largest battery-electric SUVs developed in China, with a 216-litre front trunk on top of 816 litres of rear cargo space.
A dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup produces a combined 697 hp and 700 Nm, taking the ES9 from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The single 102 kWh CATL battery supports 5C ultra-fast charging and returns up to 620 km of CLTC range, dropping to 600 km on the larger 21-inch wheel option. Like the rest of the NIO lineup, the ES9 is compatible with the brand’s battery-swap network, where a depleted pack can be exchanged for a charged one in about three minutes.
Three trims share the same powertrain and battery: Executive Premium, Executive Signature, and Horizon, differentiated mainly by interior materials, seating configuration, and driver-assistance hardware rather than mechanical specification. All three are also offered under NIO’s Battery-as-a-Service plan, which cuts several thousand dollars off the purchase price in exchange for a monthly battery rental fee.
Pricing for a full purchase starts from ¥498,000 for the Executive Premium Edition and rises to ¥628,000 for the range-topping Horizon Edition. Deliveries began in China on 28 May 2026, with no export markets announced so far.
