UKGeely has begun UK sales of the EX2, a compact electric hatchback sold in China as the Xingyuan, where it has been one of the best-selling cars on the market in recent months regardless of powertrain.
The range opens with the EX2 Pro at GBP 20,990 (~$28,800), built around a 35 kWh battery and a 60 kW (82 hp) rear motor for up to 155 miles (249 km) of WLTP range. That is a modest figure - the upcoming VW ID. Polo, with a similarly sized battery, is expected to travel roughly 50 miles further. The EX2 Max and EX2 Ultra use a larger 47 kWh battery and an 85 kW (114 hp) motor, extending WLTP range to 214 miles (344 km), and are priced at GBP 23,490 (~$32,200) and GBP 25,490 (~$34,900) respectively.
All three versions charge at up to 6.6 kW on AC and up to 80 kW on DC, with a 30 to 80 percent top-up taking around 25 minutes.
Standard equipment across the range includes a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and driver-assistance systems. The range-topping Ultra adds a 360-degree camera system, heated front seats and steering wheel, a powered tailgate and an upgraded sound system.
