EUTesla has published the specifications of the European Semi, its electric tractor unit, for the truck’s European debut at IAA Transportation in Hannover, which runs September 15-20. First deliveries to European customers are planned for 2027. Tesla has not announced prices or the countries where it will sell the truck.
Changes for Europe
The European truck replaces the exterior mirrors with cameras and has lighting adapted to European rules. The driver still sits in the middle of the cab, as in the US version.
Range, weight and charging
Tesla quotes a range of up to 550 km at a gross combination weight of 40 tonnes, with consumption of about 1 kWh per km. The tractor unit weighs about 9,100 kg without a trailer. Tesla has not said what battery capacity the European version uses.
Charging runs at up to 800 kW on Tesla’s Megachargers and restores about 60% of the range in 30 minutes. An electric power take-off supplies up to 25 kW to trailer equipment such as refrigeration units.
Where the Semi stands in the US
Tesla unveiled the Semi in 2017 and began limited deliveries in the US in late 2022, including to PepsiCo. The first truck came off a high-volume production line in Nevada in April 2026.
