Volvo has added the EX90 to its Black Edition range, making the seven-seat electric flagship the sixth model in the lineup to get the treatment. The package is cosmetic only: powertrains, battery and range are untouched, and Black Edition can be ordered on all three versions of the car.
The exterior swaps the standard brightwork for gloss black on the emblems, model badging, grille panel and lower body trim, and adds 22-inch wheels in the same finish. Inside there are two all-black specifications, each with a Charcoal headlining and aluminium decor.
The more interesting change is the color list. Volvo’s earlier Black Editions were tied to Onyx Black paint, which made the package a monochrome exercise. On the EX90 it is also available in Crystal White, Denim Blue and Vapour Grey, so the black trim now reads as contrast rather than camouflage.
Mechanically the range is unchanged. The Single Motor is rear-wheel drive with 329 hp, 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and up to 293 miles of EPA range, about 472 km. The Twin Motor is all-wheel drive with 442 hp, quoted at 449 hp for European MY2026 cars, 5.3 seconds and up to 305 miles, about 491 km. The Twin Motor Performance keeps the same 305-mile figure with 670 hp and 4.0 seconds.
Order books are open in a number of European markets.
