BMW's plant in Debrecen, eastern Hungary, is the first factory built for the Neue Klasse electric platform. Series production of the iX3 started in late October 2025, and the iX4 SUV coupe joins it ahead of its March 2027 market launch. BMW puts its investment at more than 2 billion euros and its workforce at around 5,000.

The plant built Neue Klasse test vehicles from 2023 before series production of the iX3 began. Demand for the iX3 moved the plant from two shifts in March 2026 to three in September 2026, by which point the 50,000th iX3 had been built. The iX4 SUV coupe is the second model for the line, ahead of its market launch in March 2027.

The site covers more than 400 hectares and assembles its own sixth-generation high-voltage batteries.
