A Stellantis car plant in Melfi, in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, open since 1994 and now building the Lancia Gamma on the STLA Medium platform.

Stellantis Melfi is a car plant in the town of Melfi, in the province of Potenza in Basilicata, southern Italy. Stellantis dates its opening to 1994, and the company calls it a centre of excellence and one of its most advanced manufacturing sites.

From 2026 it builds the Lancia Gamma, the brand’s flagship, on the STLA Medium multi-energy platform. Stellantis announced the allocation in December 2024, when it said the plant would take the car in both hybrid and electric versions, and the first Gamma production cars were already road testing in May 2026. The plant is also where Lancia returns to a factory that built an earlier Ypsilon generation between 1995 and 2003.
