The Citroën 2 CV is the production car behind the 2 CV Concept, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on 11 October 2026. Citroën says it will unveil the production model within the next two years.
Citroën 2 CV price and positioning
Citroën places the 2 CV between the Ami and the C3 and says it will comply with future E-Car regulations. It is due to join the range by 2028, manufactured in Europe, at a starting-price target of around 15,000 euros.
The weight target is one tonne on a 3.76-metre body. A lighter car can use a smaller, cheaper battery, Citroën says, with a range it calls tailored for everyday use. Battery size, motor output and range are unpublished.
Inside the 2 CV Concept
The 8-inch square touchscreen sits on a cylinder with the single-spoke steering wheel and one control lever, in a cabin with no traditional dashboard. A removable basket takes the place of a centre console. Overhead is a fabric sunroof, and Radioën is a detachable radio that doubles as a speaker.
2 CV Concept design
Steel wheels, 18 inches across, take their look from the original 2 CV, and the black tailgate runs down to the bumper. The body was drawn for mass production and repair: flat surfaces, and bumpers that are separate parts replaceable on their own. Citroën has not said which concept features will reach the production car.
