The Honda Prologue is a mid-size electric SUV that Honda launched in the US for the 2024 model year, built in partnership with General Motors. Rather than developing its own EV platform for the US market, Honda used GM’s Ultium architecture, and the Prologue is manufactured at a GM plant in Mexico alongside related Chevrolet and Cadillac electric models.
Front-wheel-drive Prologues use a single motor making 220 hp, with an EPA range of up to 308 miles on the EX and Touring trims. All-wheel-drive versions add a second motor for 300 hp, with range dropping to 294 miles on EX and Touring and 283 miles on the range-topping Elite. Every trim shares an 85 kWh battery pack.
The Prologue became Honda’s best-selling electric vehicle, with more than 80,000 units sold in the US. Honda has now confirmed it is discontinuing the model, with sales continuing into early 2027 as dealers work through existing inventory. The decision follows the end of the Honda-GM joint EV program the car was built under, alongside a sharp drop in US EV demand after the federal tax credit for electric vehicles was removed. Honda has also wound down its own 0 Series electric line and is shifting its US strategy toward hybrids.
