The M6 is the first electric vehicle from Jetta, FAW-Volkswagen’s budget sub-brand for China, built on a new platform developed jointly with Chinese partners rather than the older Volkswagen architecture the rest of the Jetta lineup uses. China sales are expected before the end of 2026.
The sedan is close in size to a Volkswagen Passat: 4,806 mm long, 1,868 mm wide, 1,500 mm tall, on a 2,820 mm wheelbase. It rides on 17- or 18-inch wheels and adds a glass roof, semi-hidden door handles, active shutters in the front bumper, and a new Jetta emblem, styling cues that mark a step up from the brand’s existing combustion models.
Power comes from a single front-mounted electric motor offered in two states of tune, 154 hp or 197 hp; there is no all-wheel-drive option. FAW-Volkswagen has not disclosed the battery capacity or the M6’s driving range.
The M6 signals FAW-Volkswagen’s push to extend electrification down to its lowest-priced brand, following the mainstream Volkswagen ID. family’s expansion into entry-level models in China.
