Overview

The Aion S Plus is GAC Aion’s compact electric sedan, built on the same LFP-battery architecture as the rest of the brand’s mainstream lineup. It measures 4,810 mm long on a 2,750 mm wheelbase and is sold in China under the Aion name, with export markets carrying the same car as the Aion ES. GAC Aion’s newer Aion Ray 7 fastback sits above it on size.

A single 100 kW (134 hp) motor drives the front wheels through a 55.6 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate pack, rated at 505 km on the CLTC cycle with 225 Nm of torque and a 130 km/h top speed. The lineup runs from the Shine 580 trim to the range-topping Plus Luxury, both sharing the same battery and motor and differing mainly in interior trim and driver-assistance equipment.

Pricing in China spans ¥89,800 to ¥106,800 (about $12,600 to $15,000). Export pricing varies by market; the Aion ES has been listed in the Middle East at a comparable position within GAC’s compact-sedan range.
