The fourth-generation Kia Sorento, in production since 2020, received a facelift for the 2024 model year with revised styling and an updated interior. It is a three-row midsize SUV measuring 4,810 mm long on a 2,815 mm wheelbase, seating up to eight depending on the second-row layout.
The US range opens with a 191 hp 2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine on the base trim, while other markets offer a 180 hp version of the same displacement or a 272 hp 3.5-litre V6. A 281 hp 2.5-litre turbo with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive tops the petrol lineup, reaching 100 km/h in about 7.4 seconds. Europe also gets a 202 hp 2.2-litre turbodiesel. Electrified options pair a 1.6-litre turbo engine with a hybrid system for 227 hp, or with a 13.8 kWh battery for a 265 hp plug-in hybrid offering some electric-only range; both use a 6-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
Inside, the Sorento carries Kia’s dual-screen dashboard layout, with a household-style rotary drive selector on the centre console freeing up storage space. Driver-assistance features include highway driving assist and a blind-spot camera view in the instrument cluster.
US pricing starts from around $33,635 for the base LX trim with the 191 hp engine; the turbocharged and hybrid variants sit higher in the range depending on trim.
