The Maextro V800 is the second model from the ultra-luxury brand formed by Huawei and JAC under the HIMA alliance, and its first minivan. It joins the S800 sedan, which has so far been the brand’s only model. Maextro has published the first official images and a teaser ahead of a premiere it describes as imminent.
Dimensions. The V800 is a full-size MPV at 5,495 mm long and 2,006 mm wide, riding on a 3,430 mm wheelbase - proportions aimed squarely at the chauffeur-driven luxury segment.
Powertrain. It uses a plug-in hybrid system pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, rated at 173 hp and working as a generator, with two electric motors producing a combined 530 hp. Drive is to all four wheels. A 63.2 kWh battery provides 275 km of electric range on the WLTC cycle.
Design. The front end is smooth and closed-off, echoing the S800 sedan, with projector headlights, vertical animated tail lights, and a lidar unit mounted above the windscreen.
Interior. The cabin is laid out in a 2+2+3 configuration. Maextro has shown a touch control panel for second-row passengers, a panoramic roof with a “starry sky” lighting effect, fold-out tables and “crystal” interior lights. A refrigerator and an entertainment screen are expected to be standard. As with the S800, the driver-assistance system and electronics are supplied entirely by Huawei.
Pricing. Prices have not been announced. For context, the S800 sedan starts at ¥708,000.
