Overview

The CLA L is the China-only version of Mercedes-Benz’s all-new electric CLA, built locally by Beijing Benz Automotive, the joint venture between Mercedes and BAIC. It shares the CLA’s MMA platform and 800-volt electrical architecture, but rides on a wheelbase stretched to 2,830 mm, 40 mm longer than the global car, aimed at Chinese buyers who favor extra rear-seat space.

It comes in two trims. The entry CLA 260 L runs a 60 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery for a CLTC-rated 600 km range from a single motor. The CLA 300 L steps up to an 89 kWh battery, 866 km of CLTC range, and a 200 kW (272 hp) rear motor, paired with a two-speed transmission and 800-volt charging up to 325 kW. Mercedes has not announced pricing or an on-sale date for the CLA 260 L.

Inside, the CLA L carries over the standard CLA’s cabin, including MB.OS infotainment and the illuminated grille surround shared with the mild-hybrid petrol version sold in Europe.

The CLA 300 L opened for pre-order in September 2025 and launched in Beijing on November 5, 2025, priced from 249,000 yuan (about $34,900), roughly half the starting price of the CLA sold in Europe.
