The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is the sloping-roof companion to the GLE, and it was revealed with it on 31 March 2026 as part of the same update. The mechanical package is shared: the same 48-volt engines, the same MB.OS electronics, the same redesigned front end with an illuminated grille and optional Digital Light headlights. What changes is the rear half of the body, which trades the SUV’s square tailgate for a fastback.
For the United States the range is narrow. It opens with the GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe, running the 3.0-litre inline-six with a 48-volt starter-generator for 375 hp and 560 Nm, quoted at 5.2 seconds to 60 mph. Above it, and new to the country, is the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53e HYBRID Coupe, a plug-in hybrid pairing the six-cylinder engine with an electric motor for 577 hp combined and a 4.4-second run to 60 mph.
The cabin follows the GLE. The MBUX Superscreen puts three displays under a single sheet of glass across the dashboard, MB.OS brings Google services and over-the-air updates, and an AIRMATIC air suspension is available.
Mercedes has not published pricing, and says the car arrives in showrooms as a 2027 model.
