The Corolla Sedan is the four-door version of Toyota’s twelfth-generation E210 Corolla, built on the TNGA GA-C platform and measuring 4,630 mm long on a 2,700 mm wheelbase. It is sold as a conventional notchback sedan and should not be confused with the Corolla Cross, a separate, taller SUV on related underpinnings. Since a 2023 facelift, the wider Corolla range has been hybrid-only, with every non-hybrid petrol option discontinued.
Two full-hybrid engines cover the lineup. The entry 1.8-litre hybrid combines a 98 PS Atkinson-cycle engine with an electric motor for 140 hp combined, while the 2.0-litre Dynamic Force hybrid raises that to 196 hp. Both use Toyota’s e-CVT, a planetary-gear system that blends engine and electric-motor power electronically rather than through a belt, and both send drive to the front wheels only.
Alongside the Sedan, Toyota also sells the Corolla as a hatchback and a Touring Sports estate in Europe, sharing the same platform and hybrid powertrains. The hatchback and estate are built at Toyota’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire, with 1.8-litre hybrid engines supplied from the company’s Deeside facility in North Wales.
UK prices for the Corolla range start at £29,295 (~$40,100) for the 1.8 Hybrid in entry Icon trim, with the 2.0 Hybrid available on higher grades.
