SAIC-Volkswagen revealed the E7X at the Beijing Auto Show on 27 April 2026 — the second production model to wear the AUDI badge in China. Built on the 900V Advanced Digitized Platform (ADP), a joint development between SAIC and Volkswagen, the E7X positions itself against the BYD Sealion 7 and Zeekr 7X in China’s fiercely competitive large electric SUV segment.
Platform
The ADP architecture runs a 900V electrical system with full OTA update capability. It is developed and manufactured by the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture specifically for the Chinese market.
Electric System
Two powertrain configurations are available:
- Rear-wheel drive, 408 hp, 100 kWh battery
- All-wheel drive, 680 hp, 109 kWh battery
Both variants are claimed to exceed 750 km of CLTC range. The AWD version accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Exterior
The E7X features a smooth closed nose, frameless LED optics, and retractable door handles. A lidar unit sits above the windshield. Conventional door mirrors are replaced by camera display units mounted on the front doors.
Interior
The dashboard stretches a full-width display across its entire width. Rear passengers get a retractable ceiling screen. Bose audio counts 26 speakers. The panoramic roof offers adjustable transparency. Seating is available in 4 or 5-seat configurations.
Driving Assistance
The E7X launches with SAE Level 2 autopilot, co-developed with Momenta. A roadmap to Level 3 autonomy has been confirmed. The car supports full OTA updates for software and driving assistance features.
Prices will be announced in May 2026. The E7X is a China-only model.
