BYD launched the 2027 Yuan Up in China on 17 September 2026. It is the small electric SUV sold in export markets as the Atto 2. A 51.13 kWh Blade battery adds a 501 km CLTC version above the existing 301 km and 401 km cars, and the lineup now has five versions.
One motor for all five versions
All five versions use the same front motor, rated at 70 kW (94 hp) and 180 Nm. The previous Yuan Up also offered a 130 kW motor, and that option has been dropped. Battery sizes by version:
- 301 km: 32 kWh
- 401 km: 45.12 kWh
- 501 km: 51.13 kWh
The 130 kW motor is the one the European Atto 2 uses, where it makes 290 Nm and takes the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, according to BYD Europe.

The trade-in prices are a time-limited offer of 5,000 yuan (~$700) off each version. The entry list price is unchanged: the outgoing Yuan Up also started at 74,800 yuan (~$11,100), according to Autohome, and topped out at 119,800 yuan (~$17,800).
Cabin changes
The dashboard gets a new two-spoke steering wheel and a gear selector on the steering column, which clears the old selector off the centre console. The 12.8in rotating touchscreen runs BYD’s DiLink 100 software, alongside an 8.8in driver display. The list adds 50 W air-cooled wireless phone charging and heated and ventilated front seats. Driver assistance on equipped versions is BYD’s God’s Eye C suite, with navigation on highways and automated parking.
BYD has not said whether any of these changes reach the European Atto 2.
