FangChengBao, the BYD brand best known for its Bao off-roaders, launched its first sedan in China on 16 September. The Formula S costs 189,900 to 229,900 yuan ($28,200 to $34,200), and a shooting-brake version, the Formula S GT, costs 219,900 to 239,900 yuan ($32,700 to $35,600). Both are electric only. The entry price is 40,100 yuan ($6,000) below the bottom of the 230,000-280,000 yuan (~$34,200–41,600) range FangChengBao gave when pre-orders opened on 20 August.
Price by battery and drivetrain
The sedan is sold in five versions and the GT in four. Above the entry sedan, each drivetrain comes with DiSus-A air suspension or DiSus-M magnetorheological dampers at the same price.

Formula S range by drivetrain
The longest range belongs to the middle sedan. The rear-drive Long Range car and the all-wheel-drive car use the same 92.1 kWh battery; the second motor adds 190 kW and costs 150 km of CLTC range, and 20,000 yuan ($3,000).
The GT comes only with the larger battery and costs 10,000 yuan ($1,500) more than the matching sedan with either drivetrain. It is rated 50 km lower with rear drive and 20 km lower with all-wheel drive.
Every version has BYD’s flash charging, which BYD rates at 10 to 70 per cent in 5 minutes. FangChengBao has not given a delivery date.
